Last Updated: 2025-08-06

Effective Date: 2025-08-06

At Unleavened, LLC, we deeply value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information with the highest standards of care and security. We understand that trust is fundamental to our relationship with the Artest community, and we take our responsibility to safeguard your data seriously. This Privacy Policy explains in detail how we collect, use, protect, and manage your information when you use the Artest platform, and clearly outlines your rights regarding your personal data. We believe in complete transparency about our data practices and want you to feel confident that your privacy is respected and protected while you create, compete, and connect with artists from around the world.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Required Personal Information: To provide you with a secure and personalized experience on the Artest platform, we collect certain essential personal information during account registration. This includes your email address, which must be verified and serves as your primary login credential and our primary method for sending important account notifications. We also require a verified phone number, which we use for account verification purposes, security authentication, and SMS notifications when you choose to receive them.

Optional Personal Information: You may choose to provide additional information to enhance your profile and platform experience. This includes your date of birth, which we use to send birthday Credit gifts and to automatically restrict adult-oriented content for users under 18 years of age (though this information is not independently verified). You may also add social media links to your profile to connect with the broader artistic community, though these links are not verified by our platform.

Automatically Collected Information: When you use our Service, we automatically collect certain technical information necessary for platform operation and improvement. This includes device information such as your browser type, operating system, and device specifications, as well as usage data including pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns with the platform. We also maintain log files that record technical data about your visits for security and performance monitoring purposes.

Cookies and Session Management: We use essential cookies strictly for maintaining your logged-in session and ensuring proper platform functionality. Unlike many other platforms, we do not use any third-party tracking cookies or invasive tracking technologies for advertising or behavioral profiling purposes.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

Core Platform Services: We use your personal information primarily to provide, maintain, and improve the Artest platform experience. This includes processing your contest entries, managing competition participation, facilitating community voting and interactions, maintaining your account security and authentication, and providing customer support when needed.

Communication and Notifications: Your verified email address and phone number enable us to send important account notifications, contest updates, community interactions alerts, security notices, and other platform-related communications. We also use your date of birth to send special birthday Credit gifts as part of our community appreciation program.

Safety and Content Filtering: For users under 18 years of age, we use the provided date of birth to automatically filter adult-sensitive content from their platform experience. While we cannot guarantee that all potentially inappropriate content will be successfully filtered, this system significantly reduces exposure to mature content for younger users.

Platform Security: We use collected information to verify account legitimacy, prevent fraud and abuse, detect security threats, and maintain the overall integrity of our platform and community. This includes monitoring for suspicious activity and protecting against automated attacks or manipulation attempts.

3. INFORMATION SHARING AND THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

No Sale or Commercial Sharing: We want to be absolutely clear that Unleavened, LLC never sells, rents, leases, or shares your personal information with third parties for their marketing, advertising, or commercial purposes. Your personal data is not a commodity that we monetize through external partnerships or data brokerage arrangements.

Essential Service Providers: We share personal information only when strictly necessary with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the Artest platform. Each of these providers is carefully vetted and contractually obligated to protect your information with the same standards we maintain internally.

Communication Services: We use Twilio for SMS notification processing and Ably for push notification delivery. These services only receive the minimal information necessary to deliver messages you have requested.

Authentication Services: We integrate with Google, Apple, and Facebook OAuth services to provide convenient login options. These services only confirm your identity; we do not receive or store your passwords from these providers.

Art Generation Services: To provide our AI-powered art creation features, we work with OpenAI, Replicate, and Piapi. These services may process the prompts and preferences you provide when generating artwork, but do not receive your personal account information.

Infrastructure and Hosting: We use Vercel, Cloudinary, CloudFront, and Amazon Web Services for reliable hosting, file storage, and content delivery. These providers may process your data as part of providing technical infrastructure but do not have access to your personal information beyond what is necessary for technical operations.

Payment Processing: Stripe, Google, and Apple handle all credit purchase transactions and subscription billing. These payment processors maintain their own strict security standards and only receive the information necessary to process your payments securely.

Analytics and Performance: We use AppAnnie, Vercel, and Google Analytics for aggregate, anonymized statistical tracking to understand platform performance and user behavior patterns. These services receive only generalized, non-personal data that cannot be used to identify individual users.

Legal Requirements: We may disclose personal information when required by law, court order, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to government requests.

4. DATA RETENTION AND USER CONTROL

Personal Data Deletion Rights: You maintain complete control over your personal account information and may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting our dedicated privacy team at privacy@artest.com. Upon receiving and verifying your deletion request, we will promptly remove your email address, phone number, and other personal identifiers from our active systems.

Account Content Preservation: While we will delete your personal information upon request, please understand that your username, public profile information, contest entries, comments, and other contributions to the platform community will remain as part of our public contest records and community history. This preservation is necessary to maintain the integrity of past competitions and ensure that other users' contest experiences and achievements remain meaningful and verifiable.

Contest Entry Permanence: Once you submit an entry to any contest, that entry becomes part of the permanent contest record and cannot be deleted, even if you delete your personal account information. This policy ensures fairness for all contest participants and maintains the historical integrity of our competitions.

5. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS AND SECURITY

Global Platform Operations: As a platform serving users in 24 languages worldwide, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States where our primary servers are located. We ensure that appropriate safeguards and protections are in place for all international data transfers in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

Security Measures: We implement comprehensive technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission, secure server environments, access controls, regular security audits, and employee training on data protection practices.

Data Breach Response: In the unlikely event of a data security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify you promptly and take immediate steps to secure our systems and minimize any potential impact. We maintain incident response procedures designed to address security issues quickly and effectively.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY AND PROTECTION

Age Requirements: The Artest platform is designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to delete such information from our systems.

Teen User Protections: For users between 13 and 18 years of age, we implement additional protections including automatic filtering of adult-sensitive content based on the date of birth provided during registration. While our filtering systems are designed to provide age-appropriate experiences, we cannot guarantee that all potentially inappropriate content will be successfully filtered, and parental guidance is recommended.

Parental Rights: Parents and legal guardians of users under 18 may contact us at privacy@artest.com to inquire about their child's account, request access to information we have collected, or request deletion of their child's personal information. We will respond to verified parental requests in accordance with applicable laws.

COPPA Compliance: We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable children's privacy laws. Our practices regarding children's information are designed to provide appropriate protections while enabling young artists to safely participate in our creative community.

11. COOKIE POLICY AND TRACKING

Essential Cookies Only: Unlike many other platforms, Artest uses only essential cookies that are strictly necessary for platform functionality. These cookies enable core features like keeping you logged in and maintaining your session security. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any third-party cookies for behavioral profiling.

Analytics and Performance: Our use of analytics services like Google Analytics is configured to respect user privacy and collect only aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be used to identify individual users. This information helps us understand how the platform is used and identify areas for improvement.

No Behavioral Tracking: We do not engage in cross-site tracking, behavioral profiling for advertising purposes, or any other invasive tracking practices. Your browsing activity outside of Artest is not monitored or collected by our platform.
